A look back at Mac’s attack…

A couple of months ago, we were told that the historic and ever so witty "Get a Mac" campaign had drawn to a close. Sad, huh? The commercial by TBWA performed by Justin Long and John Hodgman has been nothing short from extraordinary. I’ve rarely seen anything like it. It's nailed its purpose to a T.

It completely refocused people's perception towards PCs by convincing viewers that it was the dull and defective solution for their computer needs. The campaign elevated the Mac brand even further into superstardom and targeted different topics on each "episode" that highlighted the aspects that make Mac shine over PC. It assessed the issues of tech support, product launches, customer satisfaction, applications, software, virus problems, press reviews, and even Christmas gifts… you name it, they did it. It's not a surprise that just two days ago Apple was declared "Marketer of the Decade" by Ad Age.

For all you Mac lovers out there, check out this awesome tribute to all 66 ads that were part of our lives during the past 4 years…

I leave you with some of my favorites:

That's all, folks!

I think Mac has done a really good job with this campaign. I really love the commercials, they’re funny, witty and gets thru the message. With my little knowledge of marketing I believe its a model you can follow.
